"Green Dot"Variable Voltage Transformers INCORPORATE SELP ADJUSTING & SELP ALIGNING CARBON BRUSH SYSTEM — to ensure full Carbon Brush Contact with the Copper Winding Tract in all possibilities. Our studies reveal that in the best of the Variable Transformer - the Carbon Brush contact in all positions on the winding is not more than 70% and in the local - inferior and conventional units — it is as low as 5% and highest as 30-40%. In Green Dot units, this contact area is more than 95%. T^is goes to substantially increase the reliability of the units on loads. The difference lies in components as 1. Brass Pin; 2. Brush Holder Guide & 3. Brush Holder - in designs - achieved by own R&D.
HEAT CONDUCTING & INSULATING WINDING RINGS - at 4 & 7 - are moulded out from Mica Filled Moulding Powder to take away heat produced at Carbon Brush points.
THE HEAT SINK TECHNOLOGY BUILT INTO THE CORE ASSEMPLY: THE CORE is ENCASED IN ALUMINIUM HEAT CONDUCTING CASINGS - to provide strong HEAT SINK below the COPPER WINDING for the quick and uniform distribution of SPOT HEAT generated below the carbon brush - The Aluminium encasings both on the outer and inner periphery of the Steel Core - working as Heat Sink, are insulated from the winding by Highly Compressed Silicon Bonded Mica sheets. The heat produced on the winding turns below the Carbon Brush is taken to the Aluminium casing through heat conducting mica like the heat of the heating element of an electric iron is taken away by the base plate of the Iron. This hot spot on the windings at the Carbon Brush points are totally eliminated and that also goes to improve the Current ratings & Overloading Capacities of our Variable Transformers substantially. UNIPORM COMMUTATOR TRACK IS ACHIEVED THROUGH GRINDING ON SURPACE GRINDING AND A ROTARY TABLE. - in targeting to achieve a perfect wound Toroidal Coil,"Green Dot" has put in years of untiring effort - perfecting on design and fabrication of tools and components. The processed coil - to final stage passes through gluing of the thermo-set moulded components - that finally end with unleveled coils that are highly detrimental to the performance of the end product, "Green Dot" has perfected the art and has ultimately produced coifs that are finished by grinding on a Surface Grinder. Grinding Copper - a soft metal in the wire form — by cross cutting on a surface grinder -is a technical challenge to the grinding Technology and "Green Dot"'s R&D has achieved the same. WHY - BETTER OF THE BEST
You have been using Variable Transformers and you had given place in your heart to one particular brand and make - which you had claimed as one and only one to be preferably used. You were not prepared to provide a foot space even to any new make or brand because either in trial of the new make you had burnt your fingers or you found it not worth comparing, on first sight.
We agree - you were right.
But if you had chance to look at or even use the good international make (itm) Variable Transformers, you will wonder why the existing best (Indian make idm-existing popular) you had focused as best in your mind, has nothing at par or comparable. You will agree with some of our following observations.
Ours-presently available best-has poor Carbon Brush Area to the Current Ratio. Result is that the Carbon Brush is quite weak and fragile in comparison. Even a small overload, hazardous duty cycle, or mishandling would damage the Carbon of idm whereas itm, does not loose its position Under similar normal or abnormal operations.
The Track for the carbon on winding-is super smooth, non waivy in itm whereas in idm something is amiss.
The Bakelite moulded components are weak and at places subject to tensile shearing and tearing loads with some other gross violations of engineering concepts and practices. The international makes would use more of metal components faced with insulating materials, on load bearing places and upholding other good engineering practices.
Self adjusting Carbon Brush System, with no chance possibilities of spring failures, would be observed in itm. In locals-even the best-this is not perfect. With self adjusting Carbon Brush holding and wiping, you will have full contact of carbon on track in all possibilities.

Strengthened Components, steel reinforced with bakelite largely used, strengthened castings, strengthened end stoppers, strengthened moving arms, strengthened terminal plates etc. Bottom held coils - a concept providing extra safety in mechanical holding of coils. Super-strengthened cemented track for the carbon, to provide never-carbon brush - break commulator face.Circumferentially gripped winding to save accidental damage to the winding during raising of taps at users' end. Resin backed coil support to relieve stresses to insulation on winding at gripping places.
